Every customer is unique, and so are their transportation needs. Some organizations require all the "bells and whistles" available on a premium Starcraft bus, while others only need the bare necessities.
Determining which features your organization actually needs can mean the difference between a "good" ride and a "great" ride for your passengers.

1. Overhead storage
Storage space located above the seating area is an excellent addition for shuttle buses. It provides a convenient place for passengers to stow purses, backpacks, and small carry-on items, keeping the aisle clear.
While typically not large enough for full-size suitcases, overhead storage often comes equipped with aircraft-style reading lights. This allows each passenger to control the lighting over their individual seat, adding a personalized touch to the travel experience.
2. Reclining seats
For trips lasting longer than 30 minutes, reclining seats are highly sought after.
The recline angle is similar to that of an economy airline seat, allowing passengers to relax without encroaching too much on the person behind them. This simple upgrade makes long-distance travel significantly more enjoyable.
3. Side slider seats
This is often the most popular seating feature on our buses.
A "side slider" mechanism allows the aisle seat to slide approximately 3 inches out towards the aisle. This creates valuable hip room between two passengers sitting next to each other.
For adult passengers, that extra space prevents the feeling of being cramped, making it a favorite option for church groups and senior living communities.
4. Armrests
Standard bus seats do not always come with armrests. Adding retractable armrests to the aisle side (or between seats) provides crucial relief for passengers' arms and shoulders.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add overhead storage to a bus later?
It is very difficult and expensive to add overhead storage after the bus is built. The roof structure typically requires reinforcement at the factory to support the weight of the racks. We strongly recommend ordering this feature at the time of purchase.
What is the difference between a mid-back and high-back seat?
A mid-back seat offers support up to the shoulder blades and usually has a grab handle on top. A high-back seat supports the head and neck, offering more comfort for long trips, but it may reduce visibility through the bus for the driver.
Are side slider seats available on all buses?
Side sliders are available on most buses that have a center aisle wide enough to accommodate the seat moving outward. They are a standard option on many Starcraft and Glaval models.
How much does an A/C upgrade cost?
The cost varies by bus size, but upgrading to a high-capacity system (e.g., moving from 70k BTU to 100k BTU) is usually a modest increase in the overall price. Given the comfort it provides in hot climates, it is often considered a mandatory upgrade for southern customers.
Do armrests flip up?
