Passenger counts include the driver, and our largest buses carry up to 45 people. Louisiana sorts licenses by class: a standard Class E for most personal driving, a Class D chauffeur's license for many vehicles used for hire or in commerce, and Class A, B, or C CDLs for larger vehicles. The right license depends on the bus's design, weight, and how you use it, so confirm with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) before you buy.

- How Fast: If the bus you need is in stock, we can often deliver it the same week or the next, and almost always within a month. A custom factory order takes 60 days to 9 months, depending on chassis availability.
- What It Costs: Delivery is charged per mile, one way, so your specialist will quote the current rate. Bargain Bus Deals buses are pickup only.
- Lettering: We can add your church or school name before the bus leaves. Plan on a couple of extra weeks.
Louisiana Bus FAQ
It depends on who drives and how the bus is used. Louisiana's Class D chauffeur's license covers many vehicles used for hire or in commerce, so paid drivers, like senior care staff or a hotel shuttle driver, may need one even for a small bus. Volunteer church drivers in a bus designed for 15 or fewer people, including the driver, usually need only a standard license. Larger buses generally need a CDL. We don't sell full-size highway motorcoaches. Our buses carry up to 45 people, including the driver. If you want a more upscale ride for a smaller group, our L.A. West luxury executive coaches are built for exactly that. For bigger groups, our large buses seat 31 to 45.
We don't sell yellow school buses. Private schools have more flexibility than public schools, so many choose one of our shuttle buses for athletics, field trips, and activities. If you want school bus safety standards, we can also supply activity buses (MFSABs), which are built to the same federal structural standards as a yellow school bus. Check Louisiana's rules before using any bus for daily routes.
