PlatinumCare for Kansas Churches & Senior Care

Carpenter Bus Sales offers the only 8-year unlimited mile warranty in the industry for churches, ministries, and senior care communities. Qualifying Kansas organizations get PlatinumCare free on every new bus.

  • Every Mile Counts: In a state where a youth trip can run hundreds of miles, unlimited miles means you never watch the odometer. Coverage runs 8 years, bumper to bumper, including the body and lift.
  • What It Doesn't Cover: Routine maintenance and wear items are the owner's responsibility.
  • Other Kansas Buyers: Schools, shuttle operators, and businesses get SilverCare free (5 years or 60,000 miles) and can upgrade to GoldCare (7 years or 70,000 miles) for $800. New buses only.

Custom Solutions for Kansas Industries

Church Buses for Kansas Congregations

Church Buses for
Kansas Congregations

• PlatinumCare Included: New church buses get 8 years, unlimited miles, bumper-to-bumper coverage, free.

• Volunteers on a Class C: Kansas calls its regular license a non-commercial Class C. Volunteers can usually drive a bus designed for 15 or fewer people, including the driver, on it.

• Room for Long Trips: Rear or overhead luggage space is the add-on church buyers most often wish they had chosen, especially for camps and mission trips.

• Financing in Your Church's Name: We almost always finance with the church itself, not individual leaders.

Wheelchair Accessible Buses for Kansas Senior Care

Wheelchair Accessible Buses
for Kansas Senior Care

• PlatinumCare Included: Senior care communities get 8 years, unlimited miles, bumper to bumper, free, and the lift is covered.

• Wheelchair Vans Too: Wheelchair vans fit standard parking and hold 2 to 8 wheelchair positions without a CDL. Many communities use a van for daily trips and a bus for group outings.

• Lift and Seating: Choose a rear or side lift, wheelchair securement, and fold-away seats to fit your residents.

• Walk-Away Lease Option: Many senior communities lease so they can return the bus after a few years.

Shuttle Buses for Kansas Private Schools

Shuttle Buses for
Kansas Private Schools

• Teams and Trips: Kansas private schools buy from us most often for athletics, field trips, and activities.

• Flexibility: Private schools can usually choose any of our shuttle buses, not just school-bus-style vehicles. Check Kansas rules before using a bus for daily routes.

• Mind the CDL Line: A bus designed for 16 or more people, including the driver, generally needs a CDL with a Passenger endorsement.

• Activity Buses Available: We can also supply activity buses (MFSABs), built to yellow school bus structural standards. We don't sell yellow school buses.

Kansas Bus Sizes and Licenses

Kansas Bus FAQ

Usually not for a bus designed for 15 or fewer people, including the driver. Kansas calls its regular license a non-commercial Class C, and volunteers can usually drive a small bus on it. Buses designed for 16 or more people generally need a CDL with a Passenger endorsement. Don't confuse the regular Class C with a commercial Class C. Confirm with the Kansas Division of Vehicles.

Yes. Our Kansas and Missouri specialist works with churches, senior communities, and shuttle operators on both sides of the state line, and we deliver anywhere in the metro.

Yes. Used inventory changes daily, and used church buses generally run $40,000 to $80,000 depending on year, mileage, and condition. A used bus keeps whatever factory warranty remains, and an optional service contract is available.

We don't sell full-size highway motorcoaches. Our buses carry up to 45 people, including the driver. Our large buses seat 31 to 45, and our L.A. West luxury executive coaches offer an upscale ride for smaller groups.

The Kansas Department of Revenue says title and registration applications go through the county treasurer's office where the vehicle is garaged. Your paperwork from us starts with the titling form you complete with your specialist.

Kansas Agencies to Know

Here's who handles what when a Kansas organization buys and runs a bus. Rules can change, so confirm the details with each office.

  • Driver Licenses: The Kansas Department of Revenue's Division of Vehicles issues regular licenses and CDLs.
  • Title and Registration: Your county treasurer's office, where the bus is garaged, processes titles and registration for the Department of Revenue.
  • Child Care Licensing: The Kansas Office of Early Childhood took over child care licensing from KDHE on July 1, 2026. Check its current rules before you choose a bus for children.
  • Federal Rules: The FMCSA sets the federal CDL rules Kansas follows, and NHTSA sets the safety standards new buses are built to.
